Parking rates, as detailed as you need them.

Most lots need one rate. Some need eleven. Both take about the same time to set up.

How it works

Set a base rate. Add a block for the hours that differ.

Everything starts from one hourly number. If the lot needs more than that, each extra rate is a block that says which days and hours it covers.

  1. Set the base rate

One hourly number, used whenever nothing else applies. Add a daily cap and a minimum stay, and the lot is done.

    $4.00

    Daily max

    $48.00

    Min. stay

  2. Add pricing blocks

Turn on advanced pricing and add a block. Name it, pick the days and hours it covers, set the rate. Gaps fall back to base.

  3. Override for an event

A match, a concert, a market. Give the date its own rate. It outranks every block underneath, then expires on its own.

  4. Check it before you save

Pick an arrival and a departure. The price checker returns the exact cost, before a driver ever hits it.

Where it earns its place

Which lots need more than one rate?

A parking rate can be one hourly number or a full tariff: different prices by time of day or day of week, a daily maximum, a minimum stay, and dates priced on their own. It earns its place the moment the lot is worth more at some hours than at others.

A lot where mornings and evenings aren't worth the same.

Commuters at eight, shoppers at two, dinner at eight. One rate across all of it loses on both ends.

A lot near something that happens.

A stadium, an arena, a convention center. Twelve nights a year the space is worth four times a Tuesday.

A lot where the weekend is a different business.

Weekday contract parkers and Saturday visitors are two different operations sharing an address.

Probably not you if nobody here parks by the hour. When every car is a regular, a pass replaces the tariff instead of tuning it.

Questions

The ones operators actually ask.

A parking tariff is the complete set of rules determining what a driver pays for a parking session: the base hourly rate, any time-based or day-based variations, a daily maximum, a minimum billable stay, and any date-specific pricing such as event rates. On OpenSpot the tariff is built visually on a weekly calendar rather than configured as rules.

Yes. Turn on advanced pricing and add a block for any days and hours you like: mornings on weekdays, evenings, whole weekends. Each block has its own hourly rate, and anything you don't cover falls back to your base rate.

Nothing breaks. The base rate applies to any hour no block covers, so a lot always has a price and a driver never hits a session that can't be charged.

Add an event for a specific date and time window with its own rate. It takes precedence over every pricing block underneath it, and expires on its own afterwards without you having to undo anything.

Yes. Set a daily maximum and a session stops accruing once it reaches that number, however long the car stays.

You set one. A minimum stay means a very short visit is billed at that minimum rather than a few cents, which is usually what you want on a busy lot.

Use the price checker. Pick a date, an arrival time and a departure time, and it returns exactly what that session would cost with all your blocks and events applied. No test transactions and no waiting to find out.

Yes, and most lots do. Set a base rate, leave advanced pricing off, and you're finished.

Say when each rate applies. Check it before you save.

One rate or a dozen. Neither costs anything.
